Healthy Snack: Chocolate Gelato

It is important that athletes of all ages find creative ways to stay healthy and hydrated, especially during league season or tournament weekends. Check out our recipe of the day for a healthy alternative to snack food:

Healthy Chocolate Gelato:

  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup or honey

  • 1/2 Tbsp potato starch

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • In a cold pot, mix together all ingredients except milk

  • Bring pot over medium heat, slowly beginning to bubble

  • Remove heat and allow to cool.

  • Pour into ice cube tray and freeze overnight or for 8 hours

  • Pop cubes into food processor and blend with the 1/4 cup of milk

Healthy Snack: Strawberry Fro-Yo Bites

Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Bites:

  • 1.5 cups of strawberry

  • 1 cup of yogurt

  • 1/2 tbsp raw honey (optional)

  • 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil (optional)

  • Blend, and then get a baking sheet and line parchment paper. Pour 1 tbsp and try to keep separated. Freeze for 2-4 hours.

Healthy Snack: Fro-Yo Blueberries

Yogurt Blueberries:

  • Wash and dry blueberries

  • Get 1/2 cup of yogurt (vanilla is recommended)

  • Mix protein powder in the yogurt (optional)

  • Use a toothpick to submerge each blueberry into the yogurt

  • Place each blueberry on a parchment paper lined plate

  • Freeze for 1-2 hours
