It is important that athletes of all ages find creative ways to stay healthy and hydrated, especially during league season or tournament weekends. Check out our recipe of the day for a healthy alternative to snack food:
Healthy Chocolate Gelato:
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 Tbsp maple syrup or honey
1/2 Tbsp potato starch
1 pinch of salt
1 cup water
1/4 cup milk
In a cold pot, mix together all ingredients except milk
Bring pot over medium heat, slowly beginning to bubble
Remove heat and allow to cool.
Pour into ice cube tray and freeze overnight or for 8 hours
Pop cubes into food processor and blend with the 1/4 cup of milk
